Alloy Manufacturing Facility | Supplemental Labor & Repair
Challenge:
Our customer solutions advisor received a call from the plant manager from a metal alloy manufacturer. He had a warped I-beam in a cooling bath that his in-house maintenance team could no longer manage with temporary fixes. His team didn’t have the proper skills, and this was cutting production in half and needed to be remedied fast.
Solution:
Our advisor set up a meeting for the next day to listen and evaluate the project needs. We tapped into our network of partner contractors and connected them with one who had the right skills and experience for the situation. That same day, the contractor was on the job site and provided a bid to the customer, and the very next day they were back with workers to repair the I-beam. But upon starting, they found out the replacement that the customer provided was the wrong size and unusable. A simple repair job quickly turned more complicated. The contractor had the skills to improvise and craft a solution using the existing beam and some additional supports, no big deal.
Conclusion:
Despite the curveball, the project was completed under budget and quickly. The plant manager was very happy with the results, and was impressed with the speed and quality of the contractor and the job performed.
